Scholarships

The University offers a wide range of entrance scholarships for both local and non-local students, awarded on the basis of talents or academic performance. In addition, various scholarships and prizes recognise students’ achievements and support their aspirations during their studies at HKU. In 2024/25*, the University awarded scholarships to over 5,400 undergraduate students, with a total value exceeding HK$223 million.

JUPAS Admissions (2027 Intake)

HKU Faculty of Engineering JUPAS Entrance Scholarship*

HKDSE candidates admitted to department-based programmes^ attaining Level 5** in two or more Category A subjects or M1 / M2 in one single sitting of 2027 HKDSE Examination are eligible for this scholarship. The Scholarship may be held concurrently with other scholarships offered by the University. No separate application is required.

HKU Entrance Scholarships for HKDSE Students

The University offers merit-based scholarships to recognise top HKDSE students, who obtained level 5** in 5 or less HKDSE subjects, with awards ranging from HK$50,000 to a renewable full tuition fee.

Non-JUPAS Admissions (2027 Intake)

HKU Faculty of Engineering Global Scholarship*

To further enhance the diversity of our undergraduate community, this Scholarship provides a oneoff award of up to half of the tuition fee to attract outstanding nonlocal students, with preference for candidates from underrepresented regions. Selection is based on performance in recognised examinations, alongside exceptional talents and interests in engineering. Eligible students will be shortlisted for interview and nominated for the selection committee’s consideration on a rolling basis. No separate application is required.
